Abuela's Crafts as part of La Guanaquita's Closet is bringing you the handcrafts/handmade items made by me, abuela (my grandson calls me "abuela" which means grandma); everyday a new creation and idea comes up to give you new decorations to choose from.

At La Guanaquita’s (wan-uh-kee-tah) Closet is all about "one woman's toss-outs are another woman's bargains"... we enjoy collecting different things, new and old fashion clothing… together we enjoy searching for those beautiful and uncommon or rare things and we want to share those treasures with others.  

La Guanaquita's Closet has been doing online business since 2010 thru different venues such as etsy, eBay, mercari, Poshmark and Bonanza; and now is launching in a new adventure thru this site. Our items are from New, Pre-owned and Old Fashion Clothing, to Shoes, Purses, Vintage and Collectibles, Dishes, Vases & Much, Much More Pieces with History. 

 

OUR STORY

About David P. and MartAlicia Reinen:

MartAlicia originally from El Salvador... over twelve years ago was given asylum and the opportunity to move to Canada and few years later met David and got married and moved to Oregon, US.  I live with my beloved husband David P. Reinen, the love of my life and a great person and a wonderful musician.  Our four kids live close to us and now we have three grandchildren.

We enjoy collecting pre-owned and old fashion clothing and different kind of stuff... we have so much fun looking for those gorgeous and unusual things together and we want to share our finds with others as well. I'm in the process of writing a book (auto-biography), which I do in my spare time. When I’m done, I’ll let everybody know about it.

David is a great musician... started playing guitar and drums in 1964 and has been a student of music ever since... believes that music is the greatest language on earth and tho he is not schooled in it's technicalities - he knows it's history, it's influence, and can play it and write it with no shame or excuses. He was Brenda Lee's guitar player for two years...and loved it....she is a wonderful lady and entertainer, and he learned a great deal from that experience.

Both of us love Latin music (salsa, merengue, cumbia, mambo, rumba, etc.), rock'nroll, jazz, blues, and country… no rap.  Some of his songs can be found at Reverbnation.com; also, one of his songs is already in iTunes (Slowpoke) under David P Reinen...  you are welcome to listen to those songs to.

We just released the first album; it’s a Latin Jazz called “Necesito”. We have it now available on sale in iTunes
